Went here twice, once for a bolo de caco with ham and cheese + espresso, another time for the bolo de arroz. Staff is very hospitable and speaks a bit of English. Prices are very fair!
Nice coffee. Reasonable prices. Only accepted cash only spent €4.70 that maybe why
Half the prices of the tourist traps and far nicer. Local food, great people watching and good service. Only takes cash but cash point opposite.
Nice place to have a cafe (bica) and chinesa (canadian cappuccino). Staff is very nice. Their pastries are good as well. I found my cafe spot while I'm in Madeira.
This might be the best value cafe in Funchal. Nothing fancy, just basic snacks at very cheap prices. It's opposite the cathedral so could probably charge twice as much but it doesn't. Hot dog, chips, ham & egg focaccia and 2 drinks was less than €20 (may have even been ~€15)
A great find just across the road from the cathedral. We stopped for a quick drink and when we saw the cakes had to have a pastel de nata and an almond tart Amazing cakes at great prices 2 cakes a coffee and a beer cost €5. Well worth a visit
Very nice and simple place to try local food. Very reasonable price and very tasty fresh food .
Very central café in Funchal centre opposite the cathedral. An americano, a latte and an apple tart to share €5. Light meals sandwiches and soup also on offer all at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff...pre payment in cash. Pavement seating to the side. It has become a regular place to visit whenever we come to Madeira.
